i was bubble boy twice today and it hurt equally both times ... with the blinds quite high i was committed to going all in with my A 10 suited ... my caller was big stack with 9 3 off and guess what he hit trip 3s on the river .... why oh why is it always the river

So long as you are getting in with the best hand there is not much you can do on getting out-drawn.

Like every other badbeat, the badbeat bubble seems to happen with and alarmingly high frequency online compared to live play.

Yeah, yeah, it is just my fevered imagination.

All I know is that when I'm the short stack I'm much happier to see my caller flip over 9-3 rather than A-A.  Personally I wouldn't call with 9-3 unless I was BB and it was 1 BB or less to call.  Even if I am big stack.

Amen Ice  Roll Eyes  I don't know how many times I have been on either end of that.  I would have a much larger bankroll, that's for sure. It hurts just as bad when you get rivered with the big stack or the short one.   The short calling all in on a marginal hand I can understand, but the big stack calling with 72os just to try to put the short stack out is just insane   Smiley

I've often had the same wonder myself.  Once I kept track of my river beats and my river victories and it turns out that the river beats only slightly outnumbered my wins.  I guess you just remember the beats better.
