I like idea #2 the best. I have been nibbling on more and more money added tournaments just because they give me value for my money. If there is no added money, I just continue on and look for a better deal.

Freerolls are a dime a dozen out there. I love freerolls, and smaller ones are extra nice, but what is really nice about a forum freeroll is that it is exclusive which helps it to remain smaller; however to encourage buy in players that are members to a forum, adding more money to the buyins are much more attractive than a free for all where non-playing members join in. Freerolls are fun, but when there are so few buyin players I really don't like playing with those that just take a free ride all the time and don't help the buyins be more successful.

i think it is good to include all members.  some players have no $ available to them so earning their buy in is crucial to their playing.

so i like option 2. Grin

I'm a little giving my opinion, but I like the idea of a coupon to the buy-in.  Many of the big sites have changed their freerolls to qualifiers which is what option 2 is.
