Do you use bankroll management?

How do you work out what games you're rolled for or do you just jump into whatever you fancy regardless of level?

How would you advise a new player to manage their bankroll to ride the roller coaster that is variance?

ALL opinions welcome

I don't use a strict bankroll management because I'm a recreational player.  However, I have experienced the variance that will destroy your bankroll if you are playing stakes too large for you bankroll.  Right now I have 18  buyins for the cash games I play and I'm prepared to drop a level if I have a couple of bad runs.

i think bankroll management is similiar to a household budget.  you have to use commom sense or you will always be broke.  ok,  so sometimes chit happens,  figure out your options and go from there.  i hate to be broke and i'm too much a tightwad to overspend so i haven't had to struggle with this one.  i am aware of those that do.  it's not that they are losers they just make poor decisions.
fat bassett i do like your strategy.
